Dominican Republic

Located in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, the Dominican Republic is the largest island in the region after Cuba. Getting here is easy with plenty of flights from the UK into the airports of Puerto Plata, Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. The best beaches are located on the eastern shores and boat trips go from here to nearby islands where the diving and snorkelling is spectacular. The Dominican Republic is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and to the south by the Caribbean Sea and the capital is Santo Domingo, which is the oldest city in the new world. No matter what kind of visitor you are, the Dominican Republic has something for you. Families, couples, groups, singles, executives, eco-adventurers, and golfers will all love the Dominican Republic. The tropical wildlife is astounding. With 19 national parks, 6 scientific reserves, 32 natural monuments, 15 natural reserves, 2 marine sanctuaries and 9 protected parcels of island and a rich underwater world. Many resorts are all-inclusive including those along the picturesque coastline in the Punta Cana/Bávaro area, where a sizeable coral reef draws scuba divers.
