Langkawi is known officially as “The Jewel of Kedah”.
An idyllic island in an archipelago of approx 99 islands, this is a relaxed tropical
paradise in the Andaman sea off the coast of north west Malaysia. With no major cities
or towns, the island maintains a rural charm and offers some of the world’s best diving
and snorkelling opportunities. The island enjoys sunny skies all year round and is endowed
with breath taking white sandy beaches and exotic foliage. UNESCO declared all of the
Langkawi and the 99 islands a Geopark in 2007 to signify its ecological and geological value.
Forested hills, white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters greet visitors to tropical Palau.
Also known as "Legendary Island"
thanks to the myths associated with its ancient geological formations, it drifts serenely in
the azure Andaman Sea alongside Malaysia. Sample local cuisine at the night markets, hike to
dramatic waterfalls or dive into an underwater marine park. Access is available via ferry or
flights from Kuala Lumpur.
